1) In the event of a biological attack, it is

unlikely that we will even know it has occurred until

signs and symptoms begin to show days after the

attack.

> 2) While buying a gas mask may feel good, there are

a wide variety of types designed for different

purposes. Not all masks protect against all kinds of

agents and in some instances a mask won't do any good

at all. Also, be aware that there are many people

trying to capitalize on the current hysteria by

selling inferior products. Only purchase

masks from recognized suppliers.

proper use if you feel the need to purchase one. If

you buy it, learn how to use it. Every year

in Israel there are a number of deaths resulting from

improperly used gas masks.

> 4) If there is a chemical agent release near where

you live. Do the following.

> 1) Close all doors/windows.

> 2) Immediately turn off your heat/air conditioning

system.

> 3) Turn on the tv/radio and closely follow all

OFFICIAL direction from government emergency

officials.

> 4) Do not immediately rush to a hospital or call the 

emergency services

to find out what to do. If you do you will overwhelm

these systems and prevent people that have a critical

need from getting through.

5) In the event that you are directed to shelter in

place by authorities, make sure to have enough duct

tape and plastic to seal one room of your house where

you can remain until it is safe to

leave.

claims to contain some type of biological or chemical

agent, DO NOT HANDLE IT. Set it down, leave the room,

close the door and call the authorities.
